The
Preservation Process
The
Method
Decay usually starts in the lower joints of a typical window frame and
can spread throughout a whole section of timber. Drilling a bore hole
and injecting the preservative gel into it creates a small, yet ample,
reservoir. Capped by a timber plug and painted, the reservoir is unseen.
The preservative gel will then spread into areas with a high moisture
content so preventing infection by wood rotting fungi.
The
Repair
Ideally, the timber frames should be treated before decay is evident.
However, should small areas of decay already exist, they must be removed
and the void can then be repaired using a wood repair system or by traditional
methods of timber replacement.
